Overflowing With Hope (Anne)

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15:13

I love this scripture! I sensed to write about hope and encouragement today. I love retreats, conferences and days of reflection, praise and worship. They all build my faith and hope. Prophetic words I have received touched my heart and have many times, given me something to hold onto when circumstances of life have overwhelmed me. That touch of heaven fills me with hope and also the awareness that God knows me and is fully aware of all the details of my life and cares about me.

Daily encouragement is available. One of the best ways is praying and journaling with God. I talk with Him about those things that trouble me or fill my mind. I also tell Him how grateful I am for the blessings of every day. Once I am finished emptying the clutter in my mind, I listen to our Lord and let Him speak to me. I ask Him what He would like to say and then write what comes to my mind. This practice helps me to feel loved and cared for by our Lord. I also listen to a lot of YouTube videos on different topics. Faith comes from hearing. (Romans 10:17). Instead of listening to the negative voice in my head, I make a conscious effort to listen to faith-filled talks. If you are going through something, search for the topic. There are many faithful Christian people sharing their stories of how God changed their situation. Some days, I may listen to one. Other days, it may be every hour. But I'm trying hard to not listen to that negative voice. Make a commitment to stop complaining. This has made a big difference in an improved attitude for me. If I had known it was this big of an effect, I would have done it a long time ago.

These practices have kept me encouraged and filled me with hope. God is our hope for every situation. His hope fills me with joy and peace and makes for a pretty fantastic day. It is my deepest desire that you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!
